Jamaican scientist wins IDB Local Innovator Award
KINGSTON: Jamaican scientist Dr. Henry Lowe is the recipient of the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) Local Innovator Award for his work in the development of medicinal and other products from the Jamaican Ball Moss.
While discussing the honour, Dr. Lowe, who is executive chairman and founder of the Biotech Research and Development Institute, reiterated his commitment to helping people improve their lives.
“This award is all about our mission to improve the quality of people’s lives as we push on and continue to create and innovate,” he said. “Our work has been centred on creativity, collaboration, efficiency and optimization of resources.”
