Meet Trè Hollingsworth, one of 26 Barbados Scholarship winners

Trè Hollingsworth is used to academic success, dating back to primary school.

As a ten-year-old student of Hillaby Turners Hall Primary, Hollingsworth wrote the Barbados Secondary Schools Entrance Examination – commonly referred to as the Common Entrance Examination – and was the only student from his primary school to secure a place at Queen’s College.

Back then he was under the tutelage of Karen Best, now the Chief Education Officer, and was the valedictorian at the school’s graduation.

Hollingsworth was today named one of 26 Barbados Scholarship winners, after he scored all ones in the recent Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) in Accounting, Economics, Spanish, Caribbean Studies and Communication Studies.

Not only is he gifted academically, Hollingsworth is also an exceptional athlete, having participated in the National Primary School Athletic Championships and the Barbados Secondary School Athletic Championships.

He also is a member of Rising Stars Track Team, and represented Barbados at the recently held CARIFTA Games.
